Family reunion this weekend! Family camped at Minneopa or stayed in hotels for the weekend. On Sunday we had the official reunion at the park. All weekend there were cookies, Rice Krispie bars, and s'mores. Good weekend, but I was so tired by the end of it. 

I skipped two days of Insanity. I feel bad not doing it when I make my mom do it. On the other hand I don't because working out isn't my problem. I can almost always make myself workout when I don't want to. My goal isn't to do Insanity. I've already done all of Insanity. My goal is to eat better.

I bought ice cream on the way home from the exhausting reunion. (Comfort food anyone?) I've been doing well with counting calories so I got cocky and didn't. It came back to bite me. I was finishing off the ice cream when I realized that I had started it less than 48 hours before. I gained 0.4 pounds. 

To stay on track with my goals I have to lose 1.2 lbs this week. This will be harder than it sounds. I'm at the barn for 4 days scrapbooking. I made Mama Laughlin's Skinny Enchilada Lasagna. It was awesome! So awesome that we ate it before I remembered to take a picture.

I'm dreading school. So much that I've reached the point where I just want to do it and be done. In the meantime I'll scrapbook my lame life. I have very few pictures of this last year. All I did was study. At least I have a picture of me studying.

 
Holy knowledge, Batman! This is my massive stack of books for my first semester of the Nursing program! The girl from the bookstore helped me carry them out to my car. I will get a code for some online thing when I get to class. I also have a kit for skills class (which includes a catheter kit. Yay!

One night we had a bonfire and s'mores. Abby and Jake would run away whenever I tried to take a picture. Abby was better at it because I don't have any of her.

Grrrr

I'm pretty freakin' crabby! After losing a pound I then had two bad days. I didn't panic. I just decided that I would do better the rest of the weekend. Wrong. It was a long, busy, exhausting weekend. I worked forty-one hours in three days. One night I got four hours of sleep. Not four solid hours, mind you. Due to that, all I wanted was comfort food; muffins, pizza, cake, and other cake-like-things. So, that's what I had minus the pizza only because it wasn't available.
I'm quitting my overnight job so I should get more sleep soon. I'm hoping that will help. I blame my overnight job for my weight gain in the last few months. I take a fatty sugary snack, also known as comfort food, to work to eat before I go to sleep. How else do you unwind... at work? Then, because I'm tired, I eat like that all day. I work every other weekend and some Thursday nights. This adds up to six to eight nights a month eating this way. No wonder I'm the heaviest I've ever been!


 I'm going to start packing meals to bring to work. This probably doesn't sound weird to you, but, it is at my job. I work with mostly college students who love a free meal. I've even had co-workers tell me they plan how much money they need for groceries based on how many free meals they will get at work. The food is usually really good too. The fridge is packed with the house's food and the clients lunch boxes so I feel bad stuffing my food in there. But, my plan is to bring my own yummy food. I'll already know the calories and won't have to figure it out. I also have an awesome, pretty, insulated, lunch bag so I don't have to stuff it in the fridge 

I have three more overnight shifts left. So, with that job done and bringing my own food to my day job, I should see some changes!

One of those days I was cooking like crazy I made this let down of a pizza. The crust was made from cauliflower. It was gross.

Lunch on the go: two hard boiled eggs and a smoothie for 370 calories! High in protein, two servings of fruit, and a serving of dairy!

Week 1

Keep in mind that I'm very high while writing this.(From exercise that is. Don't do drugs and stay in school.) I just did day three of Insanity. This is my second time doing this. It brings me back to basketball practice. I remember one of my first practices. I thought I was going to faint or throw up. I learned to love that feeling. I haven't had anything quite like it until I found Insanity. Shaun T, the maker of Insanity, yells at me, but is still encouraging, just like my first basketball coach. When I've mastered Insanity (which will take a few rounds) I want to do The Asylum. On a side note, I'll be marrying Shaun T.

I don't know if Shaun T will want to marry me if this is what I look like after doing his workout (day 1). This is my "I'm so high I don't care how stupid I look" look.
Maybe when he sees my super cute cross-training shoes he'll propose!

One reason I love Insanity is that it burns fat like a bonfire burns marshmallows. You don't even try then all of a sudden you're burnt. Last time I did Insanity someone asked me if I lost weight. I said, "I doubt it. That's the plan, but I haven't been doing anything but Insanity." Which brings me to this week.

I ate like a pig this weekend. There were cookies at work. I love cookies. They were Reese's Pieces peanut butter cookies. I love Reese's. So I was actually a little crabby when I saw them. I went the whole day on Friday without eating them. Then I had three. Same thing on Saturday. Sunday after church I went out for lunch. You can eat healthy when you go out to eat, but not in Lake Crystal. There are two bar-and-grills and a Dairy Queen. Don't tell me to have a salad. By the time I have a salad I like it is so many calories I should have just had the cheese burger. So I had chips and dip. Then I went to my parents house. I ate a bunch of zucchini bread. Then I went out for Mexican. You can eat healthy when you go out for Mexican. My problem is I want a lot cheese when I have Mexican.

Monday I got back on the wagon. I even went to a pizza party at work. I had two small slices. I didn't have any chips or pop. I did the first day of Insanity. Tuesday I did a LOT of cooking. I froze three meals for when I don't have time to cook. I made Almond-crusted Chicken, Yogurt Chicken, and a thing I recreated from work. I've been calling it, "That Roll Thing." I have two things marinating that I'll make today (Parmesan Chicken and Greek Fish) These are all new recipes so we'll see if they are good.

Today I didn't want to get out of bed just because today is Weigh Day. When I finally did face the music I was pleasantly surprised to see that I lost exactly a pound! Now you see why I love Insanity. Because I reached my goal I get my reward! I'm going to buy supplies to make my own version of pounds to lose/pounds lost jars.

I'm off to shower and cook!

Goals & Rewards!

I've been eating better most days and exercising when I feel like it.  I've lost a couple pounds over the last few weeks, but now I'm ready to get serious. My favorite weight loss blog has a Facebook group. I joined the group to find out that they were just about to start a weight loss event! There are 534 people "attending" the event! This doesn't phase me, but I know some of the people reading my blog wouldn't enjoy that. Anyway, here are my goals!
